Joseph M. Lydon
Joe began his career in the financial services industry prior to his graduation from Saint Joseph’s University, Philadelphia. Twenty-five years later he is still excited about the opportunities this market holds for asset managers, product partners and the advisors he has worked with over the years.
Joe’s experience is unique. Starting his career as an accountant and later moving into client services, accounts payable, tax, compliance, sales and marketing roles has provided Joe a clear understanding of the front line demands and the mid and back office requirements that need to compliment each other in order to build a company that will achieve long term sustained success. Joe has played significant roles on a number of steering committees to improve processes and set direction.
Joe has successfully launched dedicated sales teams into the wirehouse, independent, RIA and bank channels. He has managed, trained and mentored key account managers, outside sales professionals and inside sales teams. In his career Joe has played key roles in raising over $1 billion within 30 days, over $2 billion in 3 years and $8 billion within 5 years of new assets for different types of investment solutions.These impressive results were achieved with small relative teams and despite low brand recognition.
Prior to launching GOAL Consulting Joe served as Director and National Sales Manager of the Mutual Fund Advisors Channel at GE Asset Management. He has also held senior sales and marketing positions at ING Funds Distributor, SEI Investments and Dreman Value Management. At Dreman Value Management Joe was the president of the broker/dealer and was responsible for all aspects of the Dreman family of funds launching the fund family from its inception. He has managed sales teams, account management teams and operational teams. Early in his career he was one of the youngest officers appointed at a major bank in Philadelphia.
Joe holds his Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses.
